Important details for teachers:
Registrations are completed by the teachers. The registration fees are paid by the teachers. It is up to the teacher how they collect student registration fees.
Registration fees are not refundable.
Each teacher registering students is required to be present at the auditions in person and available for adjudication assignments on both days of the event (even if only registering students for one day of the auditions).
All teachers must attend the mandatory Adjudicators Meeting on Friday, March 7th at 8am.
There will also be a mandatory adjudicators meeting via Zoom the week of February 24th. Those who cannot attend will be required to watch the recorded meeting.
If a teacher registering students cannot attend, it is that teacher's responsibility to provide a substitute judge for each day they cannot attend.
The substitute judge must be a NATS member in good standing, and cannot have their own students participating in the SERNATS regional event.
The substitute judge must be named during the registration process.
The teacher naming a substitute judge must have made prior arrangements with their substitute.
There is not a prerequisite for participating in the regional student auditions. That is, participation or placement in state or chapter auditions is not required to participate in the region event.
Students may enter up to two (2) categories per day.
All finalists in Children, Youth, High School, College, and American Negro Spiritual Categories are eligible for the National Student Auditions.
Non-NSA Adult categories do not advance to nationals.
For pianists, there is a limit of 12 preliminary-round assignments per day.
Teachers: if your collaborative pianists, or collaborative pianists from your institutions would like to be added to the pianist list, please email me at jdagostino@georgiasouthern.edu

Audition Format Updates:
As a reminder, we are piloting a new audition format, and will vote on making a permanent change following our 2025 Annual Conference. Each day of auditions will culminate in a Winners Concert, rather than a Finals Concert. The top five singers from each category will be selected from the semifinal rounds, but only the First Place Winners will perform in the concerts. The top five singers in each category will be presented with certificates at the conclusion of the Winners Concerts, and the top five singers in each NSA-advancing category will qualify to enter the NSA preliminary round. Prize money will be awarded to First Place Winners only.
Fees due at registration:
Members $28
Students $20 (per category)
**New this year!!! If you are using a staff pianist, you need to contact and pay your pianist directly. Arrangements must be made prior to registration. A list of pianists who agree to the staff pianist rate of $45 for up to three songs and $60 for 4 or more songs is attached. Please note these fees only include the preliminary round, semifinal round, and Winners Concert. Rehearsal time is not included in the rate, but may be negotiated separately, at the discretion/availability of the pianist. Please make arrangements with staff pianists early, as they need to be secured prior to registration. Please note pianists can play for a maximum of 12 student auditions per day, and students are limited to 2 categories per day.
Teachers: If you would like to invite your pianists to the business dinner (March 6th @ 5pm), add that extra meal in the option.
